Vad är Capture Saga?
Capture Saga är ett svenskt event helt och hållet tillägnat till cosplayfoto. Vårat mål är att skapa möjligheter för cosplayare och fotografer att träffas och samarbeta på unika platser. Evenemangen tar generellt plats under en dag på en specifik, noggrant utvald plats. Varje evenemang tar emot ett begränsat antal deltagare så för att delta måste du därför gå igenom en ansökningsprocess. När du väl blivit antagen kommer du att fritt kunna planera fotosessioner med de andra deltagarna. För att utmana dig att kliva utanför din komfortzon och för att se till att alla deltagare har minst en planerad fotosession under evenemanget kommer du också att slumpmässigt paras ihop med en annan deltagare för evenemangets första fotografering. Vi jobbar även med att hitta nya tillägg och idéer för framtida event.

Om platsen
Bohus Fästning började byggas på 1300-talet och har under seklerna sedan dess tillhört både Sverige och Norge. Idag är fästningen en ruin och har använts till flertalet filminspelningar, senast för den nya filmatiseringen av Ronja Rövardotter. Bohus Fästning ligger i Kungälv, två mil från Göteborg. Du kan ta dig till platsen med egen bil eller med buss från Göteborg.
Praktisk information
Parkering och toaletter finns tillgängliga.
Notera att eventet tar plats utomhus. Vi hoppas självklart på fint väder men vet att maj kan bjuda på många sorters väderlek! Det finns områden på platsen där det går att söka skydd för eventuellt regn, men vi ber deltagare att anpassa utrustning och dräkter utifrån förväntad väderlek och ta med paraplyer mm. om det ser ut att behövas. Eventet tar inget ansvar ifall något tar skada.
Fästningen är av naturliga skäl byggd för att vara svårintaglig och vissa områden kan vara svåråtkomliga. För att öka tillgängligheten finns hissar på vissa delar av platsen. Vet du med dig att du kommer ha behov av de hissar som finns installerade så säg till i förväg så vi kan informera personal på plats.

Anmälan
För att delta på eventet behöver du föranmäla dig. Eventet har bara möjlighet att ta in ett begränsat antal deltagare och vi strävar efter att ha en jämn uppdelning mellan fotografer och cosplayare. En anmälan garanterar alltså inte en plats på eventet. Ett par veckor efter att anmälan stängts blir du meddelad på den epostadress du uppgett om du fått en plats på eventet eller inte.I anmälan skickar du med en portfolio med exempel på dina tidigare cosplayfoton. Som cosplayare skickar du även med information om den dräkt du tänkt ha på eventet. Du behöver inte ha gjort din dräkt själv och vi välkomnar både officiella och egendesignade dräkter.
Det finns två kategorier att välja mellan när du anmäler dig, standardkategorin där du under eventet blir tilldelad en första slumpmässigt utvald fotopartner och sedan på egen hand har möjlighet att planera din dag, och nybörjarkategorin där dagen följer ett mer uppstyrt workshopformat. Du kan läsa mer om nybörjarkategorin nedan. Om vi anser att du utifrån din portfolio passar bättre i en annan kategori än den du anmält dig till kan vi föreslå att flytta dig.
I standardkategorin är det även möjligt att anmäla sig som en cosplay-duo. Duos förväntas ha matchande dräkter och ha alla sina fotograferingar under dagen tillsammans.
För nybörjare
Under nästa event kommer det att finnas en särskild nybörjarkategori. Kategorin är öppen för både fotografer och cosplayare och riktar sig till dig som ännu inte har så mycket erfarenhet av cosplayfoto. Deltagare i kategorin börjar dagen med en workshop tillsammans med Allion Photography och Darkesttears. Under workshopen får du tips kring kommunikation mellan cosplayare och fotograf, saker att tänka på när du tar bilder on-location mm. Efteråt får deltagare i kategorin möjlighet att prova på att fota med varandra.
Kategorin har plats för som mest 8 deltagare. Vid fler anmälningar kommer ett slumpmässigt urval att ske. Får vi ett betydligt större intresse är det möjligt att vi ser över antalet platser. Trots att urvalet för nybörjarkategorin är slumpmässigt ber vi dig ändå att ta med en portfolio i din anmälan för att ge oss bättre koll på nivån av förkunskaper hos deltagarna. Notera att du även i nybörjarkategorin förväntas ha din egen fotoutrustning eller cosplaydräkt.
Tidigare Event
Vårt förra event tog plats på Bogesunds slott utanför Stockholm den 13:e September 2025. Eventet var fullbokat och samlade sju cosplayare och fem fotografer. Deltagarna fick tillgång till slottets alla rum och i genomsnitt hade varje deltagare tre olika fotograferingar under dagen.

Capture Saga is a Swedish event with the goal to create opportunities for cosplayers and photographers to meet and collaborate in unique locations. Our events will generally take place during one day in one specific, carefully selected location. Each event will only be able to take a limited number of participants and to attend you will therefore have to go through an application process. Once accepted you will be able to freely plan sessions with the other participants. To challenge you to step out of your comfort zone, and to make sure that everyone gets to plan at least one set during the event, you will also be randomly paired up with another participant for the first photo session of the event.

Our next event will be held on the 9th of May at Bohus Fästning in Kungälv, close to Gothenburg.
Price of the event is 350 sek. Time: 13:30-19:00. A minimum of 15 participants is necessary for the event to happen.

Bohus Fästning is located in Kungälv, twenty kilometers from Gothenburg. You can get to the venue by car or by bus from Gothenburg.

Note that the event will take place outdoors. We are of course hoping for good weather but know that May in Sweden can offer many kinds of weather! There are areas on the venue where you can seek shelter from possible rain, but we ask participants to adapt their equipment and clothing based on the expected weather and bring umbrellas etc. The event takes no responsibility if anything is damaged.
The fortress is built to be difficult to enter and some areas may therefore be difficult to access. To increase accessibility, there are elevators in some parts of the site. If you know that you will need access to the elevators, please let us know in advance so that we can inform the staff on site. More practical information can be found on the fortress's website.
Registration
To participate in the event, you need to pre-register. The event can only accommodate a limited number of participants and we strive to have an even distribution between photographers and cosplayers. Registration does not guarantee a place at the event. A couple of weeks after registration closes, you will be notified at the email address you provided whether you have been granted a place at the event or not.
In your registration, you will submit a portfolio showing examples of your previous cosplay photos. As a cosplayer, you will also send information about the costume you plan to wear to the event. Your costume does not have to be self-made and we welcome both official and original designs.
There are two categories to choose from when you register, the standard category where you will be assigned a first randomly selected photo partner during the event and then have the opportunity to plan your day on your own, and the beginner category where the day follows a more structured workshop format. You can read more about the beginner category below. If we believe that you, based on your portfolio, fit better in a different category than the one you registered for, we may suggest moving you
In the standard category it is possible to apply as a cosplay duo. Duos are expected to have matching costumes and plan all of their photo session together.

The category has room for a maximum of 8 participants. If there are more applications, a random selection will be made. If we receive significantly more interest, it is possible that we will review the number of spots. Although the selection for the beginner category is random, we still ask you to include a portfolio in your application to give us a better idea of the level of prior knowledge of the participants. Note that even in the beginner category, you are expected to have your own photo equipment or cosplay costume.
